Kirmell has been pressing and manufacturing metal components in Birmingham since 1985. Every gate bracket in this range is made in the UK, which means we control the steel quality, pressing tolerances, and finishing at every stage. There are no middlemen, no imported unknowns — just consistent, well-made components that arrive exactly as specified.
We supply fabricators, pallet manufacturers, racking installers, warehouse operators, and trade buyers who order in volume and need the same component to perform the same way every time. If you need a specific size, a modified profile, or a custom finish that isn't listed, contact our team with your specifications.
Our range includes the main pressed steel bracket profiles used across pallet gates, racking assemblies, warehouse frames, fencing systems and fabricated steelwork. Each bracket type is designed for a different fixing requirement, from right-angle reinforcement to tube support and offset frame connections.
Steel Angle Brackets: The steel angle brackets are L-shaped brackets used to create, support or reinforce a right-angle corner joint. They are also commonly known as right-angle brackets, L brackets or corner brace brackets.
This type of bracket is one of the most versatile options in the range and is often used for pallet frame corners, racking assemblies, fabricated structures and general fixing work. Slotted versions provide adjustable fixing positions, making them useful where alignment or installation tolerance is important.
U-Shaped Channel Brackets: The U-shaped brackets are three-sided pressed steel brackets designed to fit around a tube, post, rail or frame section. The U-channel profile helps grip the section on multiple sides, giving better support and resistance to side movement than a simple flat plate.
They are commonly used in pallet gates, steel frames, warehouse equipment, fencing systems and industrial fabrication where a strong channel-style fixing is required.
Tube Clamp Brackets: Tube clamp brackets are shaped to fit around circular hollow section tubes, helping secure round tube sections neatly and firmly. The curved or saddle-style profile gives better contact against the tube, reducing unwanted movement and improving the stability of the fixing.
They are commonly used for pallet gate frames, round tube assemblies, handling equipment, fencing rails and fabricated steel products.
Z Brackets & Offset Brackets: The Z-shaped brackets or offset brackets are used when two fixing points are not on the same level or plane. Their stepped profile helps bridge a gap, create an offset connection or position one frame member away from another.
These brackets are useful where a flat bracket would not reach correctly, and a U bracket would not provide the right alignment.
Stepped & Spacer Brackets: Stepped and spacer brackets are used where components need to be fixed apart at a controlled distance. They help maintain spacing between frame members, rails or structural parts while still providing a secure fixing point.
These brackets are commonly used in pallet gate construction, fabricated steel frames, warehouse equipment and industrial assemblies where parts do not sit flush together. They are especially useful when a simple flat plate, angle bracket or standard U bracket does not provide enough clearance or separation.
The right bracket depends on three things: your tube or section type, the depth of the frame, and the load the joint needs to carry.
Start by checking what you need the bracket to do. If you are fixing two parts together at a corner, an angle bracket is usually the best choice. If you are fixing around a tube, post or rail, a U-shaped bracket or tube clamp bracket will usually hold it better.
Next, look at how the parts line up. If both parts sit flat against each other, a standard bracket may be enough. If one part sits higher, lower or further out, a Z bracket or offset bracket can help connect them properly.
Also think about how much movement the bracket will face. Pallet gates, warehouse frames and handling equipment are used every day, so the bracket should hold the part firmly and not leave it loose.
Before buying, check the shape of the part you are fixing, how the bracket will be fitted, and whether you need any adjustment during installation. Choosing the bracket based on the job and fixing position will help you create a stronger and cleaner assembly.
Gate brackets are also known as: U brackets, U-shaped brackets, U-channel brackets, U-clamp brackets, tube fixing brackets, tube clamp brackets, tube saddle brackets, CHS tube brackets, steel tube brackets, Z brackets, Z-shaped brackets, offset brackets, offset fixing brackets, stepped brackets, cranked brackets, steel angle brackets, right angle brackets, L brackets, slotted angle brackets and corner brace brackets.
